ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“My work is a reflection of myself and what I aspire to be; I hope that through my work I can show at a moment’s glance what I hold most dear: Simplicity, honesty, family, good nature. If I can communicate through art how proud I am of my heritage and how amazingly wonderful it feels to be a woman, a mother, an artist...If my paintings can transcend an emotion or a feeling to someone else, then I am happy to create a cycle that nourishes my soul as well as that of the viewer’s.” |
Having been born in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico and raised in Los Angeles her work certainly has a flair that has been described as Latin, Hispanic, or Mexican and her kitchen scenes certainly reflect this influence. However
Aydee is far more recognized for her paintings of women which seem able to truly reflect the soul and spirit of all women.
